In 2013, La Bufón S.O.S.ial was invited by the Maya Research Program (MRP) to return and participate in a program to recover identities through the arts with children, youth and the community. Yaxunah is a strategic archaeological site that serves as an important model for other communities. La Bufón S.O.S.ial is supporting the work of needs planning to strengthen language skills, cultural identity and help young people and children recover from the effects of colonization and war, protect natural resourcesand recover knowledge about traditional and medicinal plants.
This year 4 artist will return to work with the Yaxunah theater company "Mayalenials", children and youth are inspired to create their own show in their Mayan language and be able to present it in their own and nearby communities, and most importantly, reactivate the archeological site as a cultural center.
